A packaging project, where the aim is simplicity - a bottle with some graphic detailing on it - possibly vinyl type or symbols, wrapped in a loose paper wrapper, where the two sides of the paper are important, as is the choice of stock you use. Form can also come into play here, folding, origami etc.

This project aims to take a simple modern look at a very traditional industry - Scotch Whisky.
And possibly through this design concept, aim the drink at new markets.

The drinks market is full of extraordinary concept and finish - packaging, super packaging, uber packaging & branding. The key to this working is through the refined use of the elements used to tell a graphic story and an extraordinary level of finish, which comes together to form a mesmerisingly beautiful product.

For inspiration, I looked at the classic ‘gentlemen’s club’ vibe. I was inspired by the illustrative feel a lot of older signs and posters had. I wanted to have a dapper looking figure involved somehow as many consumers will often compare themselves when looking at the bottle and feel that this bottle will suit them with their drink needs.

I started by looking into leather holders instead of something that would wrap around the bottle down to the nature of my concept. I wanted my whisky to be quite a social item that would be carried around to and from places. The idea of a “gentlemen’s club” was that the man would carry his own whisky to the meeting point with ease. The holder will have a shoulder strap for comfort and ease (also for a little bit of style).
